We are a Maintained Community Nursery School. This means that we serve everyone in our community and do not try to attract a particular cohort or type of child or family. We aim to be fully inclusive and meet each child’s needs to the very best of our ability. This includes children with SEND, very able children, those with medical needs and children from culturally and economically diverse backgrounds. We tailor-make our curriculum based on the needs of the individual children who attend and so our offer changes depending on these needs.

Relationships are central to our practice and we focus a great deal on getting these right – with and between; children, parents, families, staff, professionals and community members.

We expect that every child will make the best possible progress and we aim to identify and ameliorate any possible barriers that they face. We also aim to support families in understanding what they can do to support their children and act as a hub of knowledge to sign-post families to other areas of support should this be needed.

We believe that we are a “Learning Community” and this includes our staff team and that our practice must continue to develop by interrogating what current research tells us about how young children learn best.
