The Office for Standards in Education, Childcare Services and Skills (Ofsted) is the government department that regulates and inspects schools and different types of childcare provision in England to make sure that the quality of care and education meet the requirements of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS). The education inspection framework (‘the framework’) sets out how Ofsted inspects maintained schools, academies, non-association independent schools, further education and skills provision and registered early years settings in England.
As a local authority maintained nursery school with a childcare provision, we have two different types of inspection:
- Our nursery school is inspected as a school, as per the Ofsted School Inspection Handbook.
- Our childcare provision is inspected under the Ofsted Early Years Inspection Handbook.
This is different to privately owned, voluntary or independent nursery which are only subject to one type of inspection.
Our most recent Ofsted inspection for our Baby and Toddler Room under the Early Years Inspection Handbook (Aug, 2023) graded us as 'Outstanding' in all areas.
Our most recent Ofsted inspection for our Nursery School under the School Inspection Handbook (November 2024) was 'Outstanding in all areas'
Proud to be Outstanding
In our most recent Ofsted inspection we were judged as Outstanding in all areas
